Acton Bridge a few minutes early going hard, then also a bit early throught Wrenbury. Quite a few comments from the watchers though about how off beat she sounded.... Video being processed..

It does sound slightly off beat in sgthompson's video above.

I think it was someone standing nearby who must have thought the approaching car would spoil the sound.

There were two sites of fires south of Forsinard within 1/4 mile of each other - one within sight of the Kinbrace road, the other nearer Forsinard further away and out of sight in a cutting. I drove past the first site about 45 minutes before the GB4. My own view based on what I saw is perhaps not what you want to hear though, although clearly no-one can be 100% certain what the cause was. As soon as I saw smoke from the cutting given the conditions and the 'tundra' type vegetation of the area, I called the Fire & Rescue Service and Inverness RETB to report it. Passed the site near the road (the lineside was well ablaze with billowing flames in a strong wind - it was pretty obvious that rail traffic should be stopped) on the way back south about 15 minutes later - a Network Rail track walker had pulled up in a van and was on the phone so we continued on, passing the Helmsdale fire engine on the way, as there was nothing more to be done. Didn't see any other fires.
Forsinard is a beautiful, wild and desolate place. Quite special. It is such a shame that the fire happened, affected such a special habitat and spoilt an otherwise historic day (first southbound steam out of Wick since 1960?). If we don't get some rain soon in the midlands and south, I sadly think we'll run into more issues like this sooner than normal this year.

Saw her three times today, seemed to either really struggle at the top of Llanfihangel,
Does anyone know of a guaging restriction through Severn Tunnel Junction? The train idled up to the platforms before opening up and thrashing down towards the tunnel-shame for the many gathered videographers on the bridge before the station! Still, a good day out!

We have never intended to put diesel on any of GB4 (except, of course, back from PZ) but a 'shadow' has been present, as in previous years, in case of problems; it was on the rear of the ecs from Cfth in order to save a path.
