VT - The Cumbrian Conqueror - DH 5043 & 6233 over Shap

Many thanks for the vids and phots of a rather excellent day out.
60 over the top of Shap ain't bad, just imagine what it could have been if 5043 hadn't had to tow that lump of Crewe metal as well.
Stuart has anyone told you that with a bit of practice you might become a half decent railway photographer?
Once again thank you to the linesiders for giving us support crew a view of the action that we otherwise wouldn't get to see.

Very nice photo. Made by the clouds. IMHO.

 

Almost looks like a plausible pairing.. Indeed that castle with the right tender could almost look like a jubilee

Has there ever been a castle+duchess pairing before ?

 

It also proves you can still get a fantastic picture even with OHLE. Really good picture Henry.

Strewth, that is posh. I'm still trying to move on from blurred, dark, out of focus images where half the loco is not even in the shot! LOL!

 

That is one hell of a shot Henry to get both rods at the same level on both locos so well done mate .

 

Not a bad day out could have done with a bit more weight behind the the locos,thanks to all at vintage
