As it's nearly been 12 months are you able to provide an update of your original post? Is 34527 still at the rly or has that moved on?

Current Status of coaching stock as of 1/1/14. Red = stored, black = under restoration, green = in traffic, blue = moved on, informatiuon in bold is a change in status or updated informaiton. Hope it is of interest.
    • NSR 4 wheel 28 - Stored & sheeted at Cheddleton, restoration stalled 5+ years ago
    • Buffet E1878 - Now funded and inside C&W workshops for full rebuild to passenger service. As of first week of Jan the bottom "skirt" of the coach had been ground off revealing the pillars (or lack of!) for repair, the doors removed and the interior and floor completely stripped out. The coach is now close to an empty shell ready for reconstruction from the ground up
    • TSO's E4354/S4392/M5175 - In traffic
    • SO 4779 - In traffic (Dining train)
    • SO M4795 - Stored
    • Mk2 BSO 9390 - Saw restoration work in 2013 but was returned to store again when M16155 and latterly E1878 took its place as the main C&W project
    • FO E13236 - In traffic
    • FO M13331 - Stored
    • Mk2 BFK M14123 - Now left the railway
    • CK M16155 - In traffic. Spent most of 2013 having a full exterior overhaul. A new "skirt" was fitted to the bottom of the coach, windows removed/repaired/cleaned/resealed, the ends and corridors dealt with and the vehicle repainted
    • SK M25891/E18832 - Scrapped
    • LMS BGZ 32994 - Was extracted 2013 for restoration. So far the chassis has been stripped, shot blasted and primed, and the mechanical components removed for overhaul. The body panelling was stripped off, the interior removed and the vehicle reduced to a wooden "skeleton", which was receiving repairs.
    • BSK 34527 - Stored, contract restoration half complete. Departure possible? - personally unsure of situation...
    • BSK M35343/M35473 - In traffic
    • LMS CCT M35289M/M37225M - Stored
    • Saloon 45028 - Now left the railway
    • Steam Heat Van 70185 - Stored
    • Kitchen Car 80030 - In traffic (Dining train)
    • BG 80960 - In traffic as stores van
    • BG 81114 - Stored, restoration halted
    • GUV W86197/E86828/93267/93470 - Non operational stores vans
    • GUV 86500 - In traffic, restoration completed Februay 2013
    • Static "Buffet" (ex-breakdown) coach 975466 - Under Restoration. Now in Carmine/Cream, interior work expected in 2014
    • Breakdown coaches 975487/975492 - Non operational stores vans
    • Breakdown coach 975493 - Receiving cosmetic attention, although restoration is taking a winter break at present.

Just to add, there are plans for the restoration of NSR28 which NSRC members were informed of at last November's AGM. However shall let those more in the know announce the full plans when they are ready.

(BTW Chris when did we lose the Saloon? Hadn't realised it had finally moved on, shows how observant I am! Hope you're enjoying your new job too.)

I note 2 FOs listed but the numbers are in the 13XXX series, which were FKs - have these been converted to Open carriages?

    Thanks

Very useful update with several developments of which I was not aware. Would it be possible to give any further details regarding:_

    SK M25891/E18832 - Scrapped

News of these being scrapped has not yet reached the VCT http://www.cs.vintagecarriagestrust.org/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=1803 and http://www.cs.vintagecarriagestrust.org/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=1792. Publication of the book 'Mk 1 Passenger Coaches' by Ashley Butlin has focused attention on clarifying certain disposals, particularly those from heritage railways. Thus, the location that these two were scrapped and date or approximate date would be very much appreciated.

Saloon 45028 - Now left the railway

Can it be clarified to where this has departed? The VCT hint at the Great Central http://www.cs.vintagecarriagestrust.org/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=2596

Not mentioned is LMS 6-whl Milk Tank 638-44000-041499 http://www.cs.vintagecarriagestrust.org/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=2568 that was in store at Oakamoor Sidings. Any news on this? It has been suggested that this is the one being offered for sale by http://www.carservicesukltd.com/

Any additional information about these would be welcomed.

Noted. So many projects get delayed or postponed I tend to wait until there has been physical progress before listing them!

It moved on at some point during 2013, but can't recall when. If you remember when the Mk2 Support coach 14123 was at Cheddleton with a sheet over it for a while - it was around the same time the saloon left.

I can't sadly help with dates, but I believe they were both scrapped on site at Oakamoor Sidings by the same contactors involved in the scrapping of the sand quarry there.

Sorry, I don't personally know that one.

Owned by an individual not involved in the CVR so I don't know the exact circumstances, other than it was brought to the railway for contract restoration (which is now very unlikely to be happening) and that it is still extant on the railway in store. I walked past it in early January :)

I think saloon 45028 is the one recently arrived at Foxfield.

Posted this is 'Churnet Valley Railway' thread topic yesterday. Lil Bear suggested M59137 might be best able to help. Bit of hunting came up with this topic where discussed before so thought might be worth re-posting here as well. Li Bear las already resolved the Milk Tank which has moved back to Midsomer Norton.

Many thanks to Lil Bear for the answers to my recent rolling stock queries. The impression I have from reading recent postings is that Oakamoor has either been completely cleared of rolling stock or if any remains it is awaiting scrapping or outward road movement. Both my listings http://www.rcts.org.uk/features/preservedcoaches/ and those of the VCT (we work very closely together) still have a number of items of coaching stock listed at the Churnet Valley but not included in the list on the website https://www.churnet-valley-railway.co.uk/coaches I presume that some remain on the railway mainly as stores vans, some have left for a new home and some have been scrapped. Thus, it would be very much appreciated if an update can be given with regard to the following:-

Oakamoor was cleared of stock before the track was lifted - two coaches were pushed off the ends of the rails for scrapping on site, quite some time ago now.

Still on the CVR in store.

Vanished off the railway a long time ago - "word on the street" was that it was scrapped. It certainly isn't on the CVR now.

Still on the CVR, was at Cheddleton in the station last weekend. Used as a store.

Was one of the coaches mentioned above, pushed off the track at Oakamoor for scrapping. Don't know personally if it has gone or if it is still sat there on the deck, as I haven't been down there since the track was lifted...

Moved to the East Lancs Railway in May.

Still on the CVR, used as a store.

Still on the CVR, owners intend to scrap it soon, as it was offered for sale earlier this year but no takers.

That was scrapped, was privately owned and after no buyer was found the owner resorted to their last option

Do know the 2 down there are no more!

An appeal that's been running internally for about 18 months now has been made public, in order to try and complete the vehicle's restoration.

If people can help raise the final £500, we would be most appreciated. The vehicle concerned is Parrot no. 3014.

    http://www.totalgiving.co.uk/appeal/parrot

So long as the bogies to provide any hidden nasties, I'd like to see the vehicle restored for next March and running for the Volunteer Open Day in another Military Goods Train. Could even look into a charter to have 2x S160s haul the military goods if there's interest!
