65 miles of steam each way roughly depending on where at Taunton the loco change is done. But on the modern railway realistically what can you do. At best you could perhaps go one way with steam, but would you have long enough at the destination...

From a passenger POV, another excellent tour by Vintage Trains. With the hot weather, it was never going to be one for the pure steam enthusiast, and we did get shoved around a lot from the back to avoid setting fire to half of Somerset....

Once part of Collection X the restoration of MNR No.16 (later IMR F37) approaches completion and it was out for a test run yesterday evening. M.N.Ry. No.16 was built in 1899 by Hurst-Nelson of Motherwell and is one of only two bogie carriages...
