It was forecast to be a sunny afternoon with light winds, it was to be Tangmere (again) and today Oswald was going to Langho. Now I'm not fond of Langho (station) with its narrow platforms but today I was not going to the station, I was going to...

And in other NRM news the 1845 built LNWR 2-2-2 "Columbine" returned to York yesterday and is temporally displayed on the turntable. A former resident of the old York Museum it has spent much of the last century in the city. In the 1990s it was...

Contrast the NRM and the superb use of technology in Hopetown, engaging young people, the selfie opps, how many actually record the moving Skerne Bridge painting on their phones, the excellent multi media interpretative presentations during the...

The A4 ran in to P4 directly from English Bridge Jn on 10th May 2023 with the Welsh Marches Express from Bristol and possibly later in the year too, so something has changed since then as it's now prohibited English Bridge Jn-Shrewsbury station....

Interesting, thanks. Would something like that work for Nunney Castle do you think? It seems odd that they can't simply adjust the platform edging at, presumably, the north end curve where few people get on or off.

  10. 3ABescot liked Oswald T Wistle's post in the thread WCR Rail Tours.

Oswald hasn't had too much luck with recent steam opportunities. Last Thursday domestic arrangements were such that a trip out would have been very difficult and the foul weather convinced me to stay at home. On Saturday I was all geared up for...

Thanks both. Very nice, personally I’d have preferred 70000 as the Brits were regulars on the line, but I’m sure the paying passengers will be very happy which is what matters.
