I suspect it will be there (along with the 73) to act as an assurance policy for overly dry weather. Also I imagine the coal prices may or may not see more diesel action in regular service...

Looks good to me! Hopefully bus times will be pinned down soon but I'm sure they will sensibly coincide with the afternoon arrivals.

Just looking at the timetable - which shouldn’t be to long before it goees live (we’ll let you all know when) it has arrivals into race course at 16.07, 17.26, 17.53 and for Saturday only 20.02. I’m not sure if the bus will still be around for...

From their instagram today, it mentions that pre-booked footplate rides will be available very soon - I strongly suspect that the purchase price will continue to include a Day Rover as it has done previously. Also mentioned in the post is that...

Looking to visit the railway for the first time on the Saturday of the event and very much looking forward to it, as it's a great lineup already, even without the next announcements to come. I was just wondering what sort of time the last trains...

Thanks Dan. I have to say, I'm surprised to hear that, not only because there had never been any allusion to such a thing during planning, but also given the almost febrile stance taken by the burghers of Salehurst against the reinstatement. OK....

Latest issue of Steam Railway has turned up today and there's a nice feature on the extension. It says a passing loop is planned on or near the site of Salehurst Halt, but they need to do clearance to conduct a survey of where best to put it....

My wife and also had a most enjoyable day yesterday. We got to Bewdley about 8.30 by which time the car park was already pretty full though we got in near the bottom of the drive. The station was quiet but everything got much busier as the day...

Dan Hill liked Swan Age's post in the thread Mid Hants Railway Operational Matters.
Yes I think that the agreement allows the MHR 10 years use, before SLL can then determine freely where it runs subsequently after the next overhaul. There was a rather large cash amount that the WLHRT held in a restricted account from the late...

I think ownership was transferred from the MHR to SLL around a year or two ago, but I think part of the agreement was that 34058 would return to the MHR when restored, as part of a closer relationship with SLL. Happy to be corrected on that though.
