    I knew I could come on here to find out what happened ;) Sanders were tested and all ok on shed, dried out before starting out from Glenfinnan and then when stuck on the hill in filthy weather conditions they were checked and no longer working....

    Summits - three Scottish summits in three days. Druimachdar, Tuesday 16th April. A lucky patch of sun by the summit board, although not the same spot as the WJV Anderson 1953 shot of two fives in the snow which may be a little further north...

    I disagree when you go on mainline you need a FTR test and I can remember sanders was one of the things checked by the inspector doing the It may be like that on private line but when on mainline it has to have a FTR test and one of the checks...

    Agree except that in the case of a service train operated by WCRC using, shall we say, a loan locomotive then would it not be a shared responsibility involving the TOC to ensure that the locomotive was fit to run on the given route?
