The first time I did a mini service on my Fiat Uno in the street in Vasto I had three people just stare at what I was doing. Quite unnerving. All I did was change filters and check the plugs.

[ATTACH] [ATTACH] Eddystone at Sherburn-in-Elmet on the RTC White Rose to York. Temperature around 28 degrees with the 47 doing most of the work. Still good to see WCR/RTC had it on the train though. Good turn out on the station to see it go...

The route is through largely arable farming area areas almost all the way with tinder dry crops either side of the line. I’m very surprised it isn’t black restriction , ie no steam, today, just be thankful it’s there

What has to be remembered, when moaning about the diesel doing most of the work, that the cross section of passengers on the train means that there is practically no option to cancel the train when Network Rail impose Red restrictions to steam...
