    This is the best news for the mainline steam scene for a number of years. Lets hope a line can be drawn now and Carnforth gets back to doing what it does best. I for one will be having another look at RTC and West Coast Tours for next year.

    I would assume given the locomotive for this trip was never formally announced, these Mk1 with CDL must have only just been finished otherwise they'd have been out last weekend on the Cumbrian Mountain Express. So probably RTC didn't want to risk...

    I meant more for RTC as they have been advertising tickets for sale this week which might of been more in demand if it was known about the mk1 return.
