Yesterday morning was wet following some overnight showers but last night was dry. The early morning was grey, misty and with no wind; the humidity had increased significantly. The decks had been cleared Oswald was out for a watch, you never know...

I do get concerned with the pedantry of the purists who insist "this" or "that" did / didn't happen. Why not not enjoy the creation of things that "might have been". For example when Pickersgill 0-4-4T 419 / 55189 visited the Churnet Valley I was...

My wife and I did only two RTC trips last year and we will do none this year unless things change. We decided to travel only on proper steam tours, that is Mk1s and no diesel. Our next steam trips are with British Pullman and VT. In the future,...

I get what you say but I do wonder how less than 2 years ago it was apparently economic for RTC/WCRC to run an unassisted Bristol/Par "Duchy" with Bahamas and load 8? Apart from the absence of the Mark 1's and obviously the fire risk I do wonder...

From personal experience I know just what a commitment it is to produce such a detailed report of a trip and am always pleased to read them, with or without a diesel, so thanks from me (but why no mention of a cat?) In a perfect world all trips...

It would be very boring to a lot of us if all we had was a list of speeds, times and the odd comment about whether the loco could be heard, I read the first few lines of the Cathedrals report then moved on. Just saying..

For week after week it was Tangmere, Tangmere, Tangmere and then suddenly here in the NW we have had Blue Peter, Tornado, Sir Nigel Gresley, Nunney Castle, Mayflower, Bahamas, Scots Guardsman. And now for something completely different, a...

Yet more rain yesterday evening - Network Rail please note. Despite it being dark and raining steadily we had a struggle to get Maisie to come back indoors; she eventually appeared around 10.15 and was decidedly wet. She finished off what was...

I nearly didn't bother watching the move as a very reliable source informed me that there would be a diesel on the front, seems he was wrong-footed by 10A; something that 10A do to us all from time to time. How's about this for 10A's next...
