I tried to video 6233 on the Royal Train over the S&C years ago. Camera set up, videoed a service train, but when I pressed record for 6233 nothing happened. Somehow I'd managed to flick the switch from video to stills!

After my "digit" problems at Diggle the day got worse. Mrs W & I set off (in plenty of time) to video the return at Todmorden or Walsden; there was a very recent incident just east of J9 on the M65, some of the traffic was filtering off at J9...

34046 Braunton heading south through Hartford station at 9pm with the return leg of The White Rose on 17th April 2024. Station lighting not quite bright enough, so had to shoot at 1/200 f2.8 and 3200 ISO to get anything at all. [ATTACH] Cheers,

I had the pleasure of 45305 Kyle to Inverness on an earlier GB thanks to the kindness of Nigel Dobbing and James Shuttleworth . It was tender first but even then the soundtrack was spine tingling . When WC are good they can be really good and...

I knew I could come on here to find out what happened ;) Sanders were tested and all ok on shed, dried out before starting out from Glenfinnan and then when stuck on the hill in filthy weather conditions they were checked and no longer working....

I went to see 34046 Braunton with Saphos Trains 'The White Rose' which unusually was routed over Standedge instead of Hope Valley line, making it the first Saphos steam charter through Huddersfield (apart from the Brexit Express a number of years...

This afternoon’s climb from Strathcarron to Luib summit near Achnasheen was absolutely wonderful listening from the first coach behind the support. With ‘continuous’ jointed track it transported me back many decades. Although I had serious...

  15. Oswald T Wistle liked Johnb's post in the thread Jacobite 2024.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation on here about the running of the Jacobite. The reason for normally having the engine facing west is so the passengers can get some proper pictures of it at Fort William, its off the end of the platform at...
