    The next problem is when it is too wet and the cracked dry soil can't absorb the water which erodes the cracks and leaves a wet slurry as a lubricant at the bottom of the slope ...... I seem to recall that was part of the problem with the earth...

    South Devon Engineering took over the production of Bulleid Pacific firebox components from Roger Pridham when they purchased his business. Production of those and standard GWR firebox sections was a steady business with the costs of the pressing...

    Cost and time are obvious reasons for a loco that is mid ticket. If a loco is in for some intermediate repair, patching a black livery and swapping a tender logo is one thing that is fairly easy but gives a “reset” for visitors, photographers...

    It is the default route if a loco fails on a railtour in Wessex or Sussex. It's a head on run via Kensington and the Poplar Incline, therefore no need to find another loco to haul the ECS out out of Victoria or Waterloo. Cheers, Neil
