2253 is coming out to play today, working the 14,40 0ff Grosmont and 16.15 return from Pickering. with 44806 still working the Grosmont-Whitby part of the services, that's two steam locos to enjoy. 31466, 37264 and 47077 doing all the fill in bits.

I was on the K1 in May 2008 taking the Jacobite stock to Fort William. As was ascended Beattock we found the lineside ablaze. No doubt we would have been blamed for it but for the evidence that it was alight before we got there.[ATTACH] Peter

Whilst possible, it would be a nightmare job . It would have to be tpped on a concrete apron, loaded into a suitable wagon and tripped to Grosmont where it would have to be unloaded. How, would be an interesting converation. I've unloaded 16...
