The derelict Schneider 0-6-2 that has lain near St Valery in Northern France since 1944 has ben saved for preservation and is now at the Musee MTVS. The picture attached is of the loco in 2012.

I certainly hope that it has, I will be there in April and if no one has been able to advise before then, will post an update. The survival of these locomotives is a very interesting tale and it is very pleasing to see that the remains of the Schneider might be rebuilt one day. As far as I can work out, it would have looked very similar if not identical to the attached picture.

Was this one of the couple just outside Noyelles, or the ones at the top of the incline to Crotoy?

It was definitely one of the ones in the dump alongside the line to Cayeux - Le Crotoy is the other side of the bay. I see MTVS who bought it are developing a new metre gauge line not so far away at Crevecoeur Le Grand on the far side of Amiens, must try and find a way to take a look. What with that and the 60cm Haut Somme line at Froissy there could soon be a "Grands Petits Trains de Picardie" association.
