    An innocent question.

Have these trains been redated to 12th April, 22nd May or 7th December?
( 7th Dec being the last day of the current WTT .)

    Cheers, Neil

The train has just passed Hereford. According to Realtime Trains it is a "Diesel locomotive, trailing load 455 tonnes." Does anyone know what engine is pulling the train? Diesel or steam? Apologies in advance for what may appear to be a silly question but I'm a tad confused.

    47501 + 3125 310 3148 99993 3100 13227 35465 + 47810 to Crewe, then 70000 Britannia Crewe to York as far as I am aware

The NR computer system does not have settings in it's programming for steam locos so diesel is always used with loads etc tweaked to get performance figures that roughly equate to that of a steam loco. Hence you will see loads that bear little relationship to the actual number of coaches. So you cannot tell from RTT what is actually on the front.

Can’t access the Manchester lines from platform 12, and the platforms that can access the lines needed can’t be occupied long enough to suffice an engine change. So it’s being shunted into Gresty to allow a loco change

I assume if Mr Hosking is on board there won't be much celebrating as Brexit didn't happen and he won't be making his millions from the British economy falling off the cliff.

Answering my own question, maybe it’s 70000 returning after today’s jaunt to the north.

I won't be going out to photograph it with that headboard on it. Perhaps it will "go missing" in Sunderland!

I'm surprised the "Remainers" in this thread aren't happy to see that Mr Hoskins at least made the effort to put the EU flag on 70000. Could've been all 'Rule Britannia' but he made that kind gesture to settle your quivering hearts. To no avail it would seem!

Presumably Mr Hoskins is looking forwards to a return to the glory days of a nationalised railway system being as everything in this train bar the Pullman is a product of a state owned British Railways :)

Headboard doesn’t bother me one bit. It’s a Britannia on the main line so what’s not to like?
