Looks like a nice gentle work out for the Scot that seems none the worse for its limited exposure over the past year or so.

It would certainly be helpful if RTC/West Coast can make it clear which future tours this set will be used on.
After a few years of only spending my railtour budget with Vintage and Saphos, I'd be more than happy to do a few RTC trips if I can be sure of what I'm going to get for my money!

I'm wondering the same as there's a lot more trips planned in the South than the North for the rest of the year. But time will tell.

I counted 6 FOs, a kitchen car, a buffet (Standard) and one Standard coach (99318) plus the barrier vehicles. So I don't reckon that what we saw fits a typical combination of customers down south. Not holding my breath that the rag, tag and bobtail Southall set is in for a change anytime soon but I would like to be wrong.

Yeah your likely right, it was a bit wishfull thinking on my end to have the Mk1s coming down South. Especially as really now the Carnforth fleet can be back in action, one of the air braked locos, like Tangmere or one of the Fives when they aren't needed in Scotland will likely come down South to assist Eddystone on the tours in the south still using the air braked Mk2s, until another Mk1 CDL rake comes available.

The Jacobite stock will be back soon, so some additional vacuum CDL stock there too (including standard vehicles).

It does however make sense to have the Vacuum braked stock near to Carnforth with Eddystone and a Black 5 able to work out of Southall.
