I crossed the border into black pudding land this afternoon to get a shot of 45231 at Newsholme.

After reading the threads above about it coming off at Hellifield, I took a gamble that it wouldnt and got this one at Billington

Had a good look at Kirkby Thore from the other side but could not tell but mind you it was early both times so that speaks volumes !

Cracking shot Neil , so that was you I could see from the bridge .

 

In Shep Woolley's picture, and even more so in Neil Scott's, reflection of vegetation makes the loco look as if it's painted green.

 

I noticed that too, I reduced the level of green in my shot to try and remove that from the locomotive. There's a nice mix of colour at the lineside when the sun's out at the moment, the grass is a blonde-yellow mixed with the green from other plants.

 

Must have been, myself and a mate of mine were down in the field. Lovely day up north, I spoke to someone at Whalley who told me that he didn't bother going up because the forecast was crap - sometimes you've got to gamble!

Seemed like a good idea at the time, long shadows, village in the background etc. but loco was shut off just before the bridge in the background.................................thank you Gordon!

Ah, yes, I've been to the same spot, exactly the same problem! Loco opened up passing through the station....!

 

Well to be fair if I'd checked the times I would have seen that it stops at Long Preston for two minutes, which explains the shut off.

So I shan't be trampling on Gordons Fuschias just yet. lol
