Every man and his dog at Chinley for the return as it was one of the few places in the area that managed to catch the last of the sunshine.

Stunning!! Looks like it was a good trip. Wonderful job by all at Bury. Would of been a good trip,IMHO a good old thrash unassisted with a Black Five would of been better than 34067 anyway!

Would love to compare white settings - the light was quite golden - not red -and that was replicated on my Canon shot.

With film you would rarely get such differentiation, but with digital you don't need Photoshop or any other software to walk away with very different renderings.

Good to meet Mr Riley at Denton and to confirm that if you spot a problem with railtour operating its best to raise it - I did and that's why the water stop moved from Ashton to Victoria.

Good to see a loco parked in clear vision at Denton too.

White balance was set to 5000k and tint +2 in Adobe Camera Raw. Like you say, in light like this everyone comes away with a different result. I don't think anyone's right, or wrong, but it's pretty much how I remember it. I disagree about film though, try taking the shot on Provia, Astia, E100VS, Velvia, Velvia 100F, Kodachrome, etc. and I guarantee every one will give a noticeably different rendering.
