Issue 234 of Railway Herald says that Torbay Express won't be using 60163 for any TE's for the rest of the season.

It seems the operators of the TE's have "fallen out" with the A1 steam trust going by the report in Railway Herald..............

They may have found out that the premium they pay for Tornado does not bring in the extra passenger revenues to justify it any more, and that 6024 and 71000 are just as attractive for the leisure market. So they've taken the chance to get it off the roster.

I don't know that for sure, just speculating.

So not necessarily a fall-out over anything except price?

    Hi mcgo,

I do understand the wish to protect copyright, but my viewing of your excellent pictures is always spoilt but the big red splash across the middle. Many of our colleagues find a copyright message in the corner to be sufficient.

    Worth a thought?

    Best wishes

Issue 238 of The Railway Herald, page 11, says 61063 Tornado will work the last Torbay Express of the season on Sun 26th Sept. The same piece confirms that Tornado will share The Tamar Devonian with 6024 on Sat 24th, as originally planned. Looks like whatever little difficulties arose between Pathfinder/Torbay Express and the A1 Trust have been resolved. Meanwhile, 71000 is rostered for this coming Sunday, 19th Sept.
