Maybe so, but we want the strong record that she has been having to continue when going out on tours. That is what I'm saying. 2014 has overall been pretty good so far for the scot. I think that Scots are also one of the more difficult locomotive to stay on top of in terms of maintenance . So that is why I tip my hat to Mr. Smith. Keep in Galatea's record has been improving as well.

With the greatest respect to Gordon, if it was indeed an injector problem, it would probably have been the fireman who found the problem.

There is a video on line that shows that the injectors were causing concerns as early as Preston, so I assume they possibly made it to Hellifield but concluded that could not risk the Long Drag.

Was it looped between Garstang and Preston because it seemed to go rt to 15l in that section?

No idea, sadly since they pushed the departure back an hour I don't get a weekly fix of steam to brighten the daily commute.

Just watched the video you mentioned and having been on half a dozen Fellsman tours I was amazed 48151 came into that platform as we always came into the normal one near the east side ( not sure what number it is ) so the crew obviously knew they had problem .

That looks like a good guess Mike, my contact says it's most likely since Scots Guardsman is likely to be on the Cathedrals on Thursday...

Although as has been suggested, why light up the Scot for Thursday when Galatea will already be in steam..

UKsteam says Shap and S&C while Steam Dreams says Settle and Carlisle which would imply a round trip so it does make since that the Jube can do both runs.

I doubt it as No9 is down to do the Coast to Coast, Liverpool-Scarborough on Saturday.

Out via Shap and return via S&C according to the trip page and the brochure. The CathEx can be up to 13 coaches so the Scot would be the more likely motive power.
