The Langwathby water stop remains a myth.
Just mythed out.
I've ordered the taxi.....
Nothing special really, same old excursion, with plenty of rear end assistance and crappy weather which kept the photographers at home. Probably not worth the 5.30 start but that's from a grumpy lineside perspective !
Dire conditions for the first of the 'Cumbrian Mountain Expresses' as SR MN Class 4-6-2 No. 35018 'British India Line' approaches Selside with Mick Rawling
driving, Rob Russell on the shovel and Roly Parker guard
From what Ive seen you made the correct decision Liam!
Footage of 35018 being pushed past Hoghton to try and whittle down a 12 minute delay then accelerating hard towards Blea Moor Tunnel.
My pic at carlisle a bit early getting into platform 3 after the C.M.E running a bit late into hellifield and yet again another good mainline tour by W.C.R.C./R.T.C. to start off the winter season
British India Line at Langwathby
35018 at Clitheroe and Helwith Bridge on first Winter CME of 2020
Impatient - methinks !! Is this worth the wait ?
35018 trundling past Newsholme but going well at Helwith Bridge
Correct decision lol, we bloody went ! Withdrawal symptoms from the lack of steam.
A challenging day at the lineside ! weather, rear gunner, white van driver etc ! Good job there's plenty of more opportunities.
You made a good job of it Liam. Classic video excellent control.Like the appearance of Frank Ifield in the last clip lol
Challenging I'm sure, but captures the atmosphere of the day perfectly...stirring stuff! Thanks for your brave efforts
Did you teach him how to yodel Henry?
I was looking for an excuse John lol
35018 at Jack Green , Langcliffe,Barrow Mill and Clifton .
