I would much prefer it to be in steam.
For a GWR man, I am impressed with the Greyhound, elegant yet practical.

Many thanks guys. I would rather photograph it in steam, but a static photo would do. But at present I'm not in a position to make the return journey to Swanage.

My memoirs are intended to contain only my own photos, but I may ask big brother Don if he will let me have a photo if I decide to include the T9. Don led me into my life-long SR steam loco hobby and we have shared many, many days on train or on the lineside together. And we still do when we can get together.

The Swanage Railway Trust's 563 Locomotive Group has today announced that it has reached a new agreement with the National Railway Museum, owners of LSWR T9 No.120, to initially assess the condition of the locomotive, ahead of a commitment to return it to steam for further service on the Swanage Railway.

An initial appeal has been launched for £50,000 to enable the locomotive to be dismantled and assessed. Full details, including means of donating, are available at:-

    Project 120 – 563 Locomotive Group

And yes, the use of the number 120 is quite deliberate...

For those who haven't seen, 120 left Swanage last Thursday for the journey up to the Flour Mill, arriving on Friday. There's a video of it's departure on YouTube.

Good news from the Flour Mill, where 120's boiler was lifted from the frames on Wednesday this week as part of the ongoing assessment of the loco. The boiler has already been de-tubed in connection with this.
