Indeed so - though such confidences are very hard to keep in the days of the interweb - another engine loan nearly got scuppered earlier this year due to details being posted by a well meaning chap on another forum - and before the frothing begins, it wasn't an NRM loco or even a railway object...

And categorically, no smoke or mirrors involved - we have had NO approach re. 925. And I'm not lying or hiding anything...

If I recall correctly, very minimal work was done in order to steam it for the Rocket150 cavalcade. So I seriously doubt that it would have been considered for a main line return.

    Regards,

All i said was that there might be hope for it, if people wish to speculate, they can do so quietly. I havent revealed anything. Many locos have had hopes like this and they have fallen through. I havent done anything to spoil it.

Nothing ever seems to change on this forum. You simply can't have opinions or say anything. Anywya 73129, who was it who said about what it needs to steam again?

I heard a rumour it was coming down to Sheffield Park so that they could use the wheel set from Stowe and get her running for the 50th anniversary.

She was booked to double head with 850 on a tour to get her to Rainhill, but high Fire risk stopped it like most of the tours around that time, if she would have been fit to run is another matter.

No, what you said was there might be some hope but "you're not allowed to say, but it might involve a return to steam".

Perhaps not the best thing to say on Nat.Pres. because I can see people getting very agitated about such a statement.
If you're not allowed to say about a subject............best say nowt, it's easier.;)

if my memory serves me right hasnt she got the larger chimney and modified blastpipe? could our NRM contact tell us what state she is in, , what flaws other than what is known, the loco has , and dow difficault a retun to steam would be, for instance, has she got a complete set of motion still, what state the firebox is in etc

it would be nice to see her back in steam, so that we can see what the differance the modifications made to the engines , and i can guess where i would like to see her based, somewhere where she will actually have to work?

whoops, sorry bout that, because its in the post war livery, i somehow thought it was one of the modified engines , so has the engine ever been assessed for a possible return to steam,

If you want to see a Schools on the main line, organise the funding of OTMR equipment for "Repton" and I'm sure the NYMR would be amenable. There has been talk that it would be nice to see it attend next years Eastleigh Open Day and do a short tour whilst its down there, but it doesn't have (or need) OTMR for NYMR services on the EVL, so someone else would have to fund it - an ambitious railtour promoter perhaps?

    Thanks

Yeah, i was wondering the same thing, i thought it was jst a one-off.

But, as one of my friends said to me, the interest and popularity is there for it to happen every year.
