    Hi,
34081's boiler was lifted from the frames yesterday using the NVR's steam crane. A set of shots from the day can be found at https://cid-281ea7f754188a77.photos.../IMG^_1440.JPG?Bsrc=Photomail&Bpub=SDX.Photos courtesy of "Doc" Lacey a BBLS stalwart.

Just checked and even if you are a Hotmail user the album cannot be viewed from the link ( am guessing but the person who posted has to be in your contacts/friend list maybe?). Maybe you need to get them to post elsewhere (Flickr etc).

It will probably work if the poster edited his post so that the URL is all on one line, instead of being divided over two

    Regards

I repeat again that the link works from me direct from this forum irrespective of how many lines it covers. I think Pete Thornhill may have hit the nail right on the head. I'll ask the chap who took the photos to let us have some for the Society website or enable a wider audience to view his pics direct.

In the meantime here's one to be getting on with.

No I am afraid that makes no difference as I explained earlier it is the permissons that are wrong due to where it is uploaded. It's just like facebook where you can only view a persons photos if you are a friend.

Target is to get the boiler away to the boilersmith before the end of February. Just a few little jobs to do and it will be ready to go.

If I remember correctly didn't you get turned down for a HLF grant? How was the funding gap bridged?

Is the boiler still going to Chatham?

Never made a full application as a generous benefactor came along with a substantial donation. We'd passed the preliminary stage and were progressing with the next stage when our "fairy godmother" arrived cash in hand.

Im going back quite a while here, but did only pridhams used to do the preformed repair section pressings for the bulleid fireboxes, is this still the case?
do Chatham produce their own pressings or do they get them in from someone else, and how substantial are the boiler repairs going to be on your engine

    Martin,
Until Chatham have removed the tubes and done a full internal examination we won't know the full extent of the work required.

Are you going to take the opportunity to get rid of that nasty steel inner firebox and replace it with a copper one?
