Thanks for confirming that - couldn't see anything else that even matched those years on a quick skim of the squadron website.

A big day for us yesterday. The frames were re-wheeled so we now have a rolling chassis. There will be video footage to follow.

I can reveal now what the livery for the relaunch will be - BR malachite green. BR dark green will follow after around four years in traffic.

A video of the re-wheeling as promised.

One of our regular volunteers is a dab hand with the video camera and he's produced a few interesting ones for us, this one included.

Brilliant to see that the "new" workshop is proving to be such a good asset, a superb bit of vision by the team who planned and financed it. Railways most invest in workshops, who noticed that not only is there a set of Matterson jacks but an overhead crane that serves the whole workshop.

Really good and interesting video, pity more groups don't do the same as such things intrigue me.

The facilities at Wansford are infinitely better than were available when we restored 34081 from Barry condition. OK, so we contributed to the repair costs of the overhead crane when it went tits up but that was a small price to pay for the benefits it brings.

This overhaul is being documented pictorially far, far better than the first one. The quality and portability of small digital cameras and phone cameras enables people to pop one in an overall pocket and record all manner if things while the work.

Excellent work by quite an impressive amount of people. Hats off to them and I will raise a glass, (or two) to their hard work and dedication to the task, later this evening.

At around 14:30 this afternoon the inspector's pressure gauge registered 250psi and 34081's valves lifted for the first time since 13/4/08. Just awaiting news of his decision but a big day for us in BBLS.

Egg on face time. This was a preliminary test, not the official one. A case of the right hand and the left hand not communicating. The good news is that it all went well and we await the full test with a degree of confidence.

Today 34081 passed her "out of frames" steam test. :D Now we can get on with reassembly before the final steam test with all pipes and gizmos connected.

Good stuff. Remember the "A1" 92 Sqn Lightning? In happier days.
