Not that I’m aware of. In the case of 92212 it left GCR because, IIRC, they wanted to take it main line, didn’t they move it somewhere where some work was to be done towards that? Then it didn’t happen (inevitably) and then they got an offer they couldn’t refuse for it, the main shareholder decided to sell and the minor shareholders decided they may as well cash in as the loco obviously wasn’t coming back anyway. Bit of a different scenario.

The only connection I can think of is that when 92212 vacated it’s shed at the back of the main Loughborough shed, 35025 moved in, but this was just because it was a convenient shed.

Wires crossed on my part then, thought the locos had some common significant shareholders. Thanks for putting the record straight.

Well I’m not saying they didn’t, I simply don’t know for sure, but the names associated with the two groups that I’m aware of were totally different people.

Maybe warrants a separate thread but I have a question regarding a few MNs that I have been following over many years from their life in Barry - and then not so much more recently and wanted to check status.

35009 - per this thread. Loco is at ELR owned by Mr Ian Riley but locomotive isn't being actively restored currently? Or have I got this wrong? Seem to recall that it was up for sale at one point.
35011 - At Sellinge and I'm enjoying seeing the progress made so far to restore to original build
35022 - I recall seeing this one parked at Swanage railway some years back but seems most recently the frames are at Crewe and in fully dismantled state? What is the status for restoring this one do we know? Maybe some boiler swapping happened as well?
35025 - was at GCR Loughborough and has suffered some non-ferrous fittings being stolen - not sure if this one is now also at Crewe or at Sellinge - or somewhere else?
35027 - in the queue for overhaul but also dismantled at Crewe?

You may call me a dreamer but imagine winning the lottery and having that lot as an operational poole for running regular Bournemouth Belle :)

35025 is at Sellindge with 35011, shes not been worked on by a support group but the guys who are working on the 4DD have started ensuring the weeds and plant life are kept away from the loco.

Thanks siquelme - I recall this one being cocooned from the elements at the bridge end of Loughborough shed so it's a real shame that things haven't worked out for the better so far.

thanks siquelme - do we know if the boiler is on-site or is this one whether the boiler may have been swapped for Port Line?

The boiler is about 20 meters down the road along with the cab and tender top.

Sellindge is a private site however there are 2 ways to visit. Either attend one of the 35011 working events or join the “Sellindge Railway Works” group on Facebook who run Sellindge and can arrange a private tour.

I did complete a paper form this year and wanted to join per https://35011gsn.co.uk/membership.html but sent cheque and didn't hear back and I then didn't follow up. Will try again maybe next year.

Odd can you PM me and I’ll get it sorted. I suspect it’s been delivered to the empty house next door. Every couple of months the owner pops and spends 20 minutes delivering misdelivered Mail.

    35025 is a crying shame,

I remember seeing her at Loughborough when I was maybe 10-12 years old- I seem to remember that the bottom end was fairly substantially complete?

Well the owner is in denial , he last time I was involved with selinge seemed to think he could kick start it next year, that was what now must be a good 8 years ago, yes it was quite advanced but now its just so much scrap , several advances were made to him to sell, but he won't , and it will go on until he kicks the bucket, he might well owe the owner of the site storage fees, So I suspect the loco will very rapidly go on the market and be up for the highest offer when that day comes, it may even end up going for scrap .

From what I saw earlier this year most of the rolling chassis is complete and appears to be in good condition. Was chatting to the 4DD guys who were saying when they moved her further down the track she rolled really well once they got her started. I suspect if the group did restart work on her they’ll have a very good base to build from

the trouble is though the group who worked on her at the GCR once she left seem to have gone to the four winds, it really needs a new group who are active to take it over, my advice to the major shareholder is to accept the reality, and put the loco first, and release it to another group, who can do what you have done, start a fund raising and protective work programme until it too can be moved to a site where restoration can be continued ,
