Dunno, 4 numbers or less I find easy to remember, past that they just don't stick! Maybe that's why I prefer grouping or pre-grouping liveries. :)

Is there any reason why 35011 can't go to Eastleigh Works? Have they been approached? They would store it under cover I'm sure. Raise the funds and, they can overhaul it as well. 35005 is already under their care.

I'm pretty sure @siquelme as said that they probably wouldn't be to keen to have anything like that at Eastleigh any more as it takes up too much space.

i should imagine its because the group lack the credibility at the moment, Arlington services allowed 925 and 35005 to be restored because they trusted the MHR who were underwriting the restoratiion, that is why i advised Dave to approach the mid hants , to get their backing, in order to open doors, i believe Arlington were asked and turned them down, but they have no credable preserved railway giving then their backing, your right, Eastleigh would be ideal, plus Eastleigh college could be involved in that restoration also, if they went down the lottery funding route, th restoration of an engine to as built condition, in the place she was built would tick so many boxes, but unles the group can get a big player onside, itt will not happen.

Eastleigh has become very busy. The shed were 925 was done is now being rented out by Colas and the place 35005 is being done is at the back of the shed on track we laid. The amount of space you would need to get the job done would require more space then eastleigh could offer/35011 could afford. It's a shame but not going to happen.

Eastleigh works itself might not be an option, but what about the old carriage works? No longer rail connected, but the buildings still stand rented out as large industrial units. I wonder if space could be found there? Just a thought.

Have you tried Shillingstone? Perhaps your group could get together with the 9F people to build and share a shed (rather like the two Black 5s at the Colne Valley)?

Hasn't the 9F gone from there?

    I think that is correct.

I don't think the 2 Black 5s share a shed either. 45163 has its own shed but 45293 appears to be in the open

I wasn't aware of it moving, and the owners are supposed to have built a shed there for it

Again I wasn't aware of that, I was always under the impression that the two groups had jointly built a shed.

It's not going to be easy is it? You may have to fast-track the board of management and then raise funds to buy a plot of land somewhere..

Not sure how far this has moved on see there is now a facebook group to update with information They mention a trust being set up for the ownership assuming this is a charity but no details on membership.
