My mistake, you seemed affronted by perceived childish behaviour of others ......

I'm sorry for posting the above and resurrecting this thread. Nine pages later, most of which is wibble, petty argument and point scoring. I'm all for a bit of a laugh, but really...............:Banghead:

And I am sorry too for responding to you with information which I believed true but was false.
At least it drew some insightful contributions from a WC official though ......
And some interesting philosophical debate on the role of social media / PR.
Its a real pity some folk cannot just ignore the bits they don't like seing discussed.

Tom, that is simply evil. No one, regardless of what they've done, deserves that fate.

No its correct, for a £28 facebook boosted post, £24,000 of fees for a sporting venue were taken, within a 3 week period on the run to xmas.

Mock if you want, but the facts of the use of social media in the correct way, stare you in the face....

Sounds like it was a non-story (if you couldn't get anyone else to say much either), WCR saw that and decided not to waste any time replying. Not unreasonable.

Maybe they were trying to give you a hint...

I hardly think it will bother WCR if you write that they didn't reply, especially when you've already said that it is a non WCR specific story. Your statement also reads as a threat - not a good way to endear yourself to a company you want to get information from.

It's already been said many times - WRC are a private business and do not have any obligation to provide you with info, regardless of your age and what you expect when you click your fingers.

I'm damn sure we wouldn't be talking about this thread. A thread about 35018 BIL and most (all) of the last few pages there has just been endless repetitive droning on about WCRC business practices. They're not going to change (why should they, it's successful outfit) just to satisfy a few disgruntled rail enthusiasts.

I was mocking the typo that made it look like £28 spent returned £24.

Think you need to revisit the original post, because there is no typo in it.

We have increased success with boosted posts, if I took the cost over the year of £288, a conservative estimate would be a return of £50,000, the more followers, the more exposure, the bigger the payback.

I think it's you who needs to revisit :) "An example of how strong they are is in December we did a £28 advert, that bought in over £24,00 of revenue,"

Extraordinary isn't it really? A private organisation restores a Barry wreck to mainline running and some people want, nay, think they should be entitled to......more!!!

Blood sucking gnats on the elephant's behind of mainline steam springs to mind.....

Nothing wrong with being a gnat, it's the blood sucking after you've already had a free feed that shows a complete lack of respect.
