It seems to be working as today on Facebook some photos of her have appeared with the comment "35018 we will be steaming for the first time since the 1960s in the next few weeks."

At least it shows 18 should be hopefully out by the beginning of 2017 are these pictures from the facebook site, or are they already out date when they say steaming in next few weeks, i assume they mean static steam test or has the boiler already been tested out of the frames there is still a lot of work to be done looking at those pictures

I think there is a very good chance that 18 will be ready soon. The steam pipes are in and AFAIK the boiler cladding was made at the MHR years ago. With a fair wind reassembly could take only a matter of a few months.

Since 18 is about done, that will make 5 restored MNs (including 05/06/27 and 28)

You could 4 running in the next couple of years at the same time when you think 06,05,18 and 28 are either in steam or due to return to steam soon.

From the evidence on the photo's, Gauge frames and glasses fitted suggests the boiler has been filled, therefore I would expect it has had a hydraulic, no evidence though that there is any smoke and soot staining on the backhead, which you would expect if there had been a fire in it... I must say I am very impressed by the outward visual condition of the boiler, with no 'evident' re staying or riveting or indeed platework repairs, it's overall condition looks externally excellent.

Not sure if there has been one announced for 2016 but The Lune Rivers Trust special in the autumn has featured a WC debut loco more than once .......

Nah, saw this at the beginning of June, but at the time it was on someone's private FB account, so felt it wasn't a good idea to publicise it.

Despite being on 35011's FB page, I still don't think its a good idea to post them on here. The originals were probably taken under strict assurances to the management that they wouldn't enter the public domain, so this may now be the last glimpse of what's going on inside Carnforth for a long while. However, it looks like 34016's boiler has been de-clad.
