I don't think the locos belong to WC, aren't they vested in a trust to ensure their future?

Nobody expects the Bulleid Inqusition. Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are fear, and surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to Oliver... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry…are such elements as fear, surprise……………………………..

Don't they have a spray booth at 10A? I'm sure 62005 was done in about 48 hours a few years ago, undercoat in the am, topcoat the pm, following day was for lining out.

I think there are a variety of ownerships at Carnforth, but I suspect they all come under a form of running agreement. Very few train operating companies own their motive power.

As it was explained to me, there are a number of companies involved, all subsidiaries of a Wakefield firm. The steam locos (except 45699 which is owned by a charitable trust?) seem to be held by Steamtown Railway Museum Ltd and hired to WC, and maintained by CRRES Ltd of a Hellifield registered address.

    As a Bulleid enthusiast:
    (a) I'll be pleased when BIL emerges and hope it becomes as reliable and competent as the class has generally proved to be.
    (b) If it's in BR lined black then that's ok by me. It won't affect (a).

if your travelling behind it, the colour don't matter, if your photographing it eventually the froth will disappear, and there is always photoshop, or dirtying it down on the print so it looks like an 67 picture where you only see grime , of course Carnforth may have just done us all like a kipper, and it does turn out to be in Br Green, as long as it is back on the mainline, i'm happy, plus having a Northern based MN opens up new opportunities, to see one operating in territory they never have before, i would love to see next years GBXI if it runs takeBIL up into Scotland a first for any MN,as well as routes such as kinswear to Bristol, now wouldnt that be a sight a West Coast plymouth to Bristol tour, passing a DBC Torbay Express, both hauled by MN's passing at Dawlish :):Drool:

Humm paint froth when will these idiots realise we are in 2017, running in a area it never worked, on flat bottomed rail with steel sleepers, no telewag poles and wires, limited number of signalling installations the list goes on and on and all we get is that the loco colour is oh so important - it ain't celibate the fact that it's in steam and doing what it's designed to do - pay for its living.
