    John, I can see where you are coming from with that comment. But I feel medals are far better deserved by all those who got Clan Line back into service in time for that trip, and all those involved with operating that loco and train on 27 April. Rather than a Gricing Owl obsessed with Merchant Navy class pacifics in general and one in particular!

    I think everyone involved got their medal when it returned to the Lane after its loaded test run, passed for another seven years on the main line.
