Not very well. I read about the exchange trials and the way the coal used affected the results, in particular Yorkshire coal really hampering locos designed to run on softer Welsh coal.

Are you really suprised, being Yorkshire coal it obviously complained about anything from outside the North East that it was put in ;)

So after all these amusing ramblings, as twr12 asked, does anyone know why 35028 has gone to Crewe?

I don't. I count the number of revolutions of a Bulleid wheel to send me off to the land of nod. It doesn't take that long, either...

The straight answer is that nobody here knows! I am sure the MNLPS will make a statement on it soon.

I find it interesting that she went up the day after what was going to be her last booked turn before annual maintenance.

I can't see what all the fuss about maroon Bulleids is. 34027 looked better in maroon than in that silly Great Western livery that most BR express locos were painted in.

Why the removal of the name plates..I know they have 2 (black & red),but why remove as though they were going via 'bandit' country.
All very fishy that needs explaining more...

As Crewe is en route to Carnforth perhaps a well oiled Clan Line might be sneaked away to join Tangmere

Then you could get a hybrid loco out of the two, possibly named Tangline :heh:

Methinks Bryan's reply might be :censored:

    Dons tin hat and :bolt:

Well it made it as someone has a video on Youtube of 35028 arriving at the Heritage Centre. Is 35028 there for the annual summer maintenance because I thought that was done at Stewarts Lane.

    thanks Bryan

I suspected as much but as no one had replied in the negative, thought I'd repeat the question

that's what I was wondering, especially as all maintenance is normally done at 'home' - apart from the recent visit to the mhr to use their wheeldrop
