Called in at the Heritage Centre this morning, a great line up of Red locos including the Duchess of Clan but she was in little bits, more like a kit really. :peep:

I have heard that 35029 has been trying to struggle out of York to get across to warn 35028 about what unspeakeable things get done to MNs oop North.

Sadly, it seems that warning may come too late, (tears)

Just received an interesting pm referring to the fitting of thermic syphons to a Scot or Princess. Must have been sent to the wrong person ... any ideas who I should forward it to?!

I've also heard a rumour that a new Rail Group Standard directive for all Pacific locomotives with a derogation to be fitted with 3'1" leading, 6'2" driving and 3'7" trailing wheels of BFB pattern. They are also to be fitted with a middle 'c' whistle and Ajax firebox doors for safety purposes. Unfortunately, brass safety valve bonnets are due to be banned to comply with a new composite loading gauge, whilst copper-capped chimneys are to be replaced with large-diameter cast versions to prevent metal thieves from stealing the former whilst on the move (this is topical down my neck of the woods, as some pillocks have stolen the bronze sculpture of Brunel from its plinth in Neyland for scrap)...

ive just had an email from Crewe asking where do we fit the 4th cylinder ?? also that report of 35029 trying to escape was a ploy to hide the real escapees Winston Churchill is planning to sneek herself out when they are busy restraining 35029 and if that fails there is always the low loader taking Cheltenham south

You should upgrade your spam filter Martin ;-) 34051 is still plotting. And is taking 673 with her as a hostage.

A couple of shots from Crewe today of 35028 being lifted for removal of driving wheels. The area is a bit congested and I was not able to get any clearer shots.

Also 70013 with some work still to be done.

actually it would be better to fit 70013 with boxpoc wheels and a bullied boiler now if the design team for 71000 had been known what they were doing she would have been designed at eastleigh , built at Brighton and been numbered 35031

Brighton? 21C1 - 35030 were built at Eastleigh ... (BTW they are 'BFB' wheels, not 'boxpoc')
