One thing to remember is that Tyseley Loco's are turned out in immaculate condition thanks to a bunch of guys who are all well over sixty, in fact I'm the youngest of the bunch at 64. What's more the majority of them only do one day a week due to the distances they have to travel to get to Tyseley.
Not bad for a bunch of guy's that should be enjoying their retirement, but instead take a great pride in turning out a loco in perfect condition every other week.

My Dad prefers the Duchess looking a bit streaky and grimy seen as he spent his childhood on Rugby station and then they all looked like that!!

Aother splendid performance by 5043 on Saturday, despite all the bridge clearance restrictions between Basingstoke and Salisbury - it was a case of repeatedly accelerating up to 75 then braking hard for the next bridge. A highlight was the energetic and noisy climb away from the Banbury stop through Cropredy and Fenny Compton, and the fast run on to Leamington. Banbury-Leamington was completed inside even time.
