    Yes I am an active volunteer
    and 46465-502 were built at Darlington, but, their tenders had an M number on them as well. The loco works plates, on the other hand, recorded where they were built.

    So is it likely that the same casting was used from Crewe and the plates shipped out ? or were the tenders made at Crewe and sent to the locos ?
    It wouldnt seem like sense to make duplicate LMS tender plate castings for Swindon and Darlington ?

    I would think that the tenders would be made at each works with the locos. It would not surprise me if each works had its own tender plate pattern.
