Great shots Dave. Love the tilt!

    Thank you, Ian :)

Looks like the Cross was busy, there must have been 20-30 on the platform at Hatfield.

I only asked as it was mentioned on here way back in the thread, that's why I posed the question, as I thought it rather strange....................................................

Fine shots DD and a great video from your friend, as you say you were helped by the reflection as the noise of the HST drowned out the approach of Bittern.

Thanks, Ralph, glad you enjoyed them & the video didn't have much time to compose as she was on top before you knew it, so I'm quite pleased with the results!:)

Your commentary provided the followers on the forum with excitement, well I know I was enthusiastically following the posts as I'm sure others were, but actually being on the train, well it certainly sounds like a magical day. Imagination does wonderful things when your reading something and picturing it in your mind!

Now as I mentioned the other day, which qualified 'videor' is going to string all the clips together and make one stunning sequence???

After the Lord's mayor show ...
I missed the main event with work so popped round to the NRM to see Bittern come on shed looking fairly fresh despite her amazing efforts that morning. Looking forward to the next run, that's booked in the diary :)

BBC News Magazine audio slideshow posted early today ahead of the Great Gathering - but also includes some of those previously seen images from Saturday's run:

I think the confusion may have arisen because many members of the Tornado support crew were on board. I don't know if they were passengers or joined the Bittern crew - most likely some of each!

ADB, forget the grammar, you provided members with an excellent running commentary so, just for this one time, we'll overlook your poor education.:p

Many thanks sir and well done.;)

Stoke Bank is straight and level. Hmm. I think Mr. Bartholomew needs to look at his gradient profiles more closely. :)

Anything less than about 1-in-20 is "level" to car drivers ;-)

Too right Victor. That wonderful commentary has to be left as written. It encapsulates so much about that day.

And , errrrr,, some of us didn't actually notice anything wrong with the grammar!

(Which is why I will be spending a lot of money on a top quality editor etc when my Owl book nears completion.)

Agreed it was a fantastic unfolding story, needs no alteration at all.
OK so now we have that technology sorted, when are we going to get live feeds from the train. even just the interior of a coach with the peoples reactions and the various noises from inside and outside....

Takes the edge off being there don't you think.

What next a 42" plasma with surround sound next to a fan, blowing steam oil, and smoke in your living room????

    Only Joking by the way!!!!

It doesn't add much to the story but for the sake of historical completeness, my video of Bittern's stately arrival into King's Cross just after 7:40am on Saturday:

A4 fans might want to watch The One Show tonight. The TV guide says they are reporting live from the NRM tonight.
