    He might be deluding himself about what he thinks can be achieved, but I can't see grounds for a ban. He is not rude to others. He doesn't create huge numbers of threads, nor try to derail every thread to talk about the SBR. So it's not like anyone is being forced to read his opinions. We'd be a very intolerant, and less lively, place if we simply banned everyone who posted opinions that were at variance with what the "mainstream opinion" (however that might be defined) considered sensible.

    Definitely not a ban for the amusement value to all that read it - car crash viewing. However what the dope doesn't realise is the harm he causes the movement by discrediting it to influential outsiders from the railway industry. keep bombarding people with requests to tender for preservation and soon or later they will get fed up with the timewasting and not entertain any serious enquiries. Eh walah - a scrapped item of rolling stock somebody needed.

    This fool has been banned from WNXX after numerous people tried to reason with hi or engage in dialogue and strangely enough he dematerialised, then popping up again a few months later with another appeal for something to do with SBR.

    ALF - IS THERE ANYBODY THERE???

    I hate to say this but do you not think you should keep the personal insults off the forum? At least send me a message or write me a letter?

    Why don't we all proclaim an appeal to raise the funds to purchase at least one of these units, and the transport costs? And we all would need to find somewhere to *keep* the vehicles.
    (It has been suggested by one of the NI enthusiasts that SBRS LTD simply sub - contract the rest which will have been subjected to component recovery).

    Before you scream your heads off and make silly noises - railway's news magazines, web sites and railway news magazines are full of such 'charity' appeals.

    Should give you all something to do when there is nothing on the TV.

    (P.S. > I don't have TV so entertain myself more constructively).

    Because the whole concept is utterly ludicrous. If you were really serious about finding some traction for the SBR, you might at least have come up with something in the right country and of the right gauge. Such vehicles do come on the market fairly regularly.
