Sherwood has also been a favorite of mine as well. Great exhaust. But I'm also glad they want to examine the loco once in Crewe or Southall.

:( but they could quite easily! :)

Any road, getting back to the loco in question - I did wonder where she would end up, so fair play to JH dipping his hand in his pocket - tis a goodly engine, and will fit well in his portfolio. ;)

If it was good enough to be applied to Royal Scot Class 46112 and Class 45 D100 / 45060 then the name can't be that "daft"; but then "beauty" lies in the eyes of the beholder !

Judging by the text on it's new page I would say the name is staying.

It's carried a name for around half its existence has it not, which surely gives it some greater legitimacy?

To get back on topic IOS have now put up a rather useful table of their complete fleet detailing each loco's current status and when their boiler tickets expire or when they are due to return to steam:

That table was there prior to adding 45231 to the fleet and someone should tell them that 12+1 doesn't equal 12. ;-)

So does anyone have an idea for when 45231 shall go to Crewe?

Once it has been divested of borrowed parts?

Does anyone know whether the sale of 45231 to Mr Hosking also includes the support coach Mark I BSK 35449 (99241)?
