Sorry to disappoint, 46118. I cannot find any details on the performances of 45596 or 45742 in either of my Jubilee Class books.

Yep that's the one. I don't know what happened there. The link was there when I posted my comment but seems to have not made it to the final post.

Dropped by Oxenhope yesterday and it looked like efforts were under way to extract Bahamas from the shed for the Yorkfest.............some task as it is fairly well down. The Yankie tank was outside already.

Wasn't the USA tank brought out for laser scanning to produce a 3-D image for model purposes?

Re: Bahamas...full steam aheadfor bid to restore classic engine

Exciting news in todays SR. The BHLS seem to have done their homework and feel there is plenty of work oop North and seem to want keep it based at Keighley. They envisage luncheon circulars around the North taking in Manchester. There is also a desire for it to visit Glasgow..........it's birthplace.......can't wait......hope they get the grant.

I would have thought Keighley is a good home for mainline steam in the north, especially those nonaligned to WCRC.
How big is the turntable though ?

Re: Bahamas...full steam aheadfor bid to restore classic engine

Think its only a fifty footer and it doesnt get used much. so not many tender engines would fit - A Std 4 2-6-0 -perhaps a black 5 might just squeeze on , there is a triangle at shipley for turning but shipley is very busy !

Re: Bahamas...full steam aheadfor bid to restore classic engine

The bridge leading up to the turntable now has a weight limit on it too, hence the reason 44871 left for Shipley during it's gala visit last year to be turned.

Re: Bahamas...full steam aheadfor bid to restore classic engine

Theres also a disused Platform at Shipley and a very long secure siding (- into a private scap yard) but neither shipley Or Bradford are unmissable visitor attractions really. Skipton Once Embsay and Bolton abbey gets reconnected / its own Platform there then a Joint Gala with a 'main line shuttle' between would be a good day out...
