I believe it's been sold to a private individual in the north. It is being overhauled at Tyseley before moving on to her new home once complete.

SR confirms it has been bought by Mike Thompson and will be based at Peak Rail. It will be the first "Small Prairie" to have a long-term home not on a former GWR line - quite something considering 14 have been preserved.

If 5521 has a home, it's the Flour Mill, which I would have thought counts as GWR territory?

It's long term home was Wroclaw, Poland (3 years) at one point... How long is long term.

Separately, wasn't 5199 based in Southport for many years.. ?

A V2 is RA9 too, more of an overweight route restricted St Bernard :D

4588 seems ideal for Peak Rail use on the face of it, economical tank engine, ex mainline company and capable of all usual PR loads.

[Pedant Mode on]I don't believe that the Flour Mill Colliery ever had a mainline connection as such; I think it was served by a tramway, which led to the Princess Royal Colliery Oakwood branch, off the Severn & Wye (MR & GWR Joint) Line[/Pedant Mode] :)

OK, my third and final try! "4588 will be the first Small Prairie to have a long-term base on a line in an area that doesn't have a former Great Western line in the immediate vicinity." How's that?
