Wow, really? For me, and I suspect others, the classic view of 60022 is Eric Treacy's broadside of it coming off shed. Jeremy could have solved all his problems by turning out Bittern as 60017.

Of course but there's an element who think that engines should carry liveries for marketing purposes instead of what their owners feel they should carry. It certainly works both ways and I can see both sides of the argument. However I'd defend the PRLCT for what they have done despite all the criticism that has come their way in the last 6 months.

If you went to a pub with your mates would you sit there nursing your pint and saying nothing, no you would have a lively debate/argument about nothing and everything... exactly what happens here.

Well with just 3 days to go before the poll closes BR green has now a slightly larger margin of votes compared to Crimson Lake. BR green 2,690 - Crimson Lake 2,346.

Time to make sure we all vote for BR Green once more - don't want to see Crimson Lake win now.

Yes that was I was thinking as you can guarantee the votes for Crimson Lake will suddenly shoot-up within the next 24-48 hours.

Yes - me. Despite the assumption, not everyone on here is fond of BR green.

I like red! The style was livery unique to the four engines 6230-34; no other engine can ligitimately carry it. I wasn't over-fond of BR blue, but did quite like the 1946 LMS black, which would be my second choice.

The thing is, although I was around in the 1950s and 60s, and actively interested in railways in general and steam in particular, I have absolutely no allegiance to BR, quite the contrary in fact!

I do like the red and I don't mind Brunswick Green (although I prefer Pre-Grouping/Big Four/Early BR colours) but given 6233 will red for 9/10 years anyway and that Brunswick is the closest colour competitor I'd go for that plus those who grew up with green Duchesses rushing up the WCML it'll be great to see another one back and this is probably the best chance for one as 46229 has been re-streamlined (can't wait to see that on the mainline) and ThinkTank aren't likely to let 46235 to be returned to steam anytime soon.

It will be whatever colour it will be I guess. Has any other livery debate ever caused so much discussion on Nat Pres ?

I think this has been very well 'managed' by the owning group and I expect green to win by a short head to avoid an outcry. ;)

I've been critical of this poll in the past, although shall have one last 'punt' on green today and keep fingers crossed!

I'm expecting a late surge in red to beat the green, but that's cynical me all over! :peep:
I do hope the green gets its day out in the sun - not my choice (blue) but it makes a change for the engine (not permanent) and something new for preservation this next year too.
