Was it really in blue for almost 7 years? I didn't think that livery lasted as long as that.

LMS Locomotive Profiles No 11 gives some different dates as follows:-

    19th May 1950 BR blue
29th Nov 1952 BR green with emblems
12th Apr 1958 BR green with crests

PRCLT quote 1950 to 52 for blue.

Nothing wrong with that livery as long as you spent most of the previous night taking illegal substances.
Going slightly off topic,it does make you wonder where some of today's livery designers are coming from when designing liveries that will stick in the publics consciousness.

Not much in the votes, perhaps this is how she will appear if the votes are tied ;)

I'm not one for paint frothing, but I have a soft spot for BR Blue in this case, as my addiction is probably down to this book, bought for me whilst still in my cot! The Book of Railways. Written in 1950 I think, so plenty more BR Blue inside. I still have it, of course!

With it not being a 'blind' vote I suspect many people will watch to see how it develops before voting. I suspect a late push for BR green! It would be nice to think that all those who beat the drum for BR green will be willing to put their money where their mouths are and actually vote!

Atleast no one has a case for complaint about the livery after it's outshopped!

If she comes out in BR green, I'd like to see the early emblem, like how 6229 looked at one time.

I see you can get 10 votes for a tenner if you print out the form and send it in. Maybe I'll do 5 for green and 5 for blue, knowing she's going to maroon afterwards anyway.

Or perhaps 6 for blue, 4 for green....

Or maybe it should be all 10 for blue....... :decision:

I'd like one side in blue, and one in green please!

There is I believe a Blue group sitting waiting for a big push in the last few days...

Good tactic, lull the green group into a false sense of security. Don't tell the greens though!

    Non-blind polls are such fun!

That's a good idea! Why didn't we Southern chaps/chappettes think of that before?!? Trust the LMS lads to come up with the goods... (He subsequently groans with disdain) No, Blue would be fine by me, something a little different (even though it seems that there is a growing trend towards this colour these days).

If only we had an original spec. Merchant Navy to turn out in blue - the opportunity to have a Big 4 lineup in blue would be marvellous!

They have a Welsh movement also!

We've seen her Maroon and know she is going back to that after a period of time, we've seen black - and enough of it in my view (!), green . . . yawn (!) but as for blue . . . .

Whatever the colour it has perhaps got many who whould not normally donate to this engine putting their hands in their pockets . . . I was an Duchess donation virgin until yesterday! Saving my pennies for another 10 votes now!

They really seem to be storming ahead on this overhaul, presumably having 6233 in steam for so long, running regularly and reliably, has replenished the coffers nicely to allow all this to happen straight away.

Can't wait to see her back in LMS Crimson myself, need to get a run on the mainline with her at some stage.

NO. Never saw one in sevice, so doesn't matter one jot to me. Even if I had I think they look stunning in blue.
