Hey Frank, they must have stopped between Dore & Chesterfield to let Mr. Adobe put it back on., good shot though.

Yes, nice shot Frank and you, clearly, had done your homework well to manage to catch the Duchess with a naked smokebox front! (God forbid!!) Indeed, there's a rumour abounding that a certain someone, who might even be a 'mod' on this forum - and who appears to have a particular problem with those who fail to concur entirely with his own points of view, but persistently insists upon impressing such opinions upon the rest of us (whether we wish to hear them, or not) - had been recruited to follow the train, in order to make sure that the poor old top lamp bracket bolts didn't commit suicide en-route as a result of all the adverse criticism levelled at what they were supporting. (Not sure the name was Adobe, 'though!)

All of which more eloquently explains why we are known as "trainspotters" far more than anything I could say

Various pictures have shown varying shades, tomorrow at Derby I will see for myself the actual colour.

First the colour, now the headboard, whatever next?
If you don't like it then why bother to turn out to take the photo.
I hope it's still there tomorrow, and I will do my best to take a frontal shot showing the headboard in all it's glory....

Just who is it that you feel has a problem with the colour?? Certainly not this writer and, quite probably, no other previous contributors to this thread.

Indeed, historically, in respect of any critics of the latest livery incarnation, I might submit that the PMRT should look a little closer to home for any answer! (Postal voting? .... I won't even go there!!)

As regards the latter part of your statement, I feel fairly convinced that other readers would find any further comment to be totally superfluous!

Because the loco looks better au naturel - but if it upsets those intent in crawling into dark orifi - then its no skin off my nose anyway, as there are plenty of shots complete with bit of steel plate attached

Oh - and Ralph - its my choice whether to edit or not - so if you don't like it - do move on!
