How many here think that the Duchess is back in Top Form after her southbound run down Shap on Saturday?
Her exhaust seemed much sharper after the slight repair that was encountered on the northbound run.

Fantastic! The only thing that's missing is the 'clitetty click' of the coaches as they go past you!

We seem to have two threads on 46233, and duplicate posts in each.

To avoid confusion, I'm going to move / merge the "whats going on" thread about 46233 with the "steam traction" thread and request users use the thread in steam traction ( exact same title).

All Posts from "whats going on" will be merged to the "steam traction" thread. No posts should be lost.

    Thanks

Any news as to the condition of this magnificent machine after the hot box failure at Hellifield Saturday 11 August on the CME?

I suppose that it would unkind to wonder why the last two Coronations, the ones with roller bearings, were scrapped.

Electronic railway mag says doubtful if 46233 will be ready for saturdays CME, no replacement confirmed yet. Does anyone have any info on this, or is it a bit of speculation?

46233 was declared fit after the Chester test run on Tuesday and is now probably in steam ready for the Flyer..... No 9 should be doing the CME and NWCE.
