    PMH_74, Ok im sorry for stating its a J94, my mistake, the main point being he's got an Austerity stored in the down sidings at Quorn waiting to be restored/overhauled,

    Hear, Hear! I was at Loughborough from about 1982 - 83, & again 1991 - 95, so I remember the Jinty at the back of the shed, & 5224 coming out. Bloody well done to Roger & his crew, one of the unsung hero's of preservation.
    Good to see those pic's on that link , bought back a lot of memories! I'm now on the WSR, but I love that Northern, LNER, LMS, atmosphere of Loughborough shed! A little bit of what I remember as a kid!
    Glad to see you still use coal braziers for heat in the shed! I think that was started by Barry, another unsung hero!
    And the greatest unsung hero of them all- Alen Grice!

    Just thought Id add, that 47406 moved under her own steam for the first time on 23/12/2009, just to Loughborough Central station and back to the shed for completion of her restoration/ amd repaint, not long now before she enter's passenger service.
