Maybe so but they have an overhaul to pay for so I’d imagine the hire fees are useful.
Here is a picture taken a couple of weeks ago at Loughborough.
I have always thought that 4953 was an odd purchase for the EOR - she is too big for such a small line. Even if they hire her out and use the fees to hire a smaller engine, they might benefit financially from the greater economy if operation.

Roll on the newbuild F5!
Any chance 4953 may be on the G.C.R. xmas santa trains or is it due to be taken by low loader before december
Beautiful! Many thanks for posting this picture
I could be wrong but I’m sure I read somewhere (maybe even here) that it is being run in at the GCR but is not being used for public runs much the same as Royal Scot at the SVR.

I suppose to see 4953 would be to visit the epping ongar line in late winter 2020 or early spring but 4 me a very early LNER train from leeds to london KX and up to epping and on a G.N. metroploitan train

It has had its test run at Epping Ongar Railway and is passed fit for service. It should be in use for the Santa and Mince Pie trains. It faces Ongar.
