    delayed?

At tredington crossing n of cheltenham no sign yet 1535. All trains heavily delayed flagmen at signals in both directions!

  7. I'd say 55022 was a clear favourite with travellers and photographers during the WSR's Mixed Traction Weekend (see www.wsr.org.uk for pics). All that was missing was a spin on the Norton Triangles...not too late, folks!

Somewhere on VHS I've got film of one of these two double-heading with Dumbleton Hall erupting out of Goodrington. Regulator in the roof on the Hall and hell knows what notch on the Deltic, but both were creating equal amounts of smoke and noise! never seen a consist lifted up from Goodrington and away round the bend so fast!
I can hear Ian Riley now "that's no way to drive a loco..." maybe, but what a sight it was!

Footage of 55022 tearing through Taunton with the return 'Mazey Day Cornishman', definitely worth going out for.

Nice to see such a classy machine at such a shocking time yesturday morning, though reading reports elsewhere the day wasn't entirely trouble free, seems one of the engines was being a bit mischevious, shutting itself down and having to be restarted on more than one occasion.

I do wonder if the practice of runing on only 1 engine on preserved lines has anything to do with it ?, 1 units is sufficient for load 8 on the East Lancs, but 13 over the South Devon Banks you definetly need both roaring away.
