Well get him to do it again!
I have it on good authority that it wasn't brake or lubricator oil problems, but sparks from the chimney
And get the K4 included in the deal.
I know this has been done over several times, but can't we just respect John Cameron's wishes and enjoy what he has shared with us for over 40 years?
Of course we can, I did say it was me doing a bit of wishful thinking, nothing wrong with that.
That A4 is a grand lump of machinery and I would suggest that there isn't an enthusiast anywhere that's not sad that it's being retired.
It is possible both to respect John' wishes and hope for a change of heart regarding Number 9's retirement. The two standpoints are not mutually exclusive IMO.
Quite so. Seeing 60009 in full flight is far more inspiring than seeing 4468 cold inside a museum and I will miss seeing her doing the job for which she is intended.
Old machinery of all types, bikes, cars, locos, planes, ships etc should be run as long as the engineering expertise and the opportunities exist. Sooner or later they will be condemned to corroding away lifeless. Postpone that day.
Here is some A4 action from last night with my video and picture of No.9 on the Private Belmond excursion powering through Worplsedon:
60009 seen last night on the private charter around the Surrey hills, great to see her back and running, first time I've seen her in a few years will be doing all i can to get a few more in before she bows out
I believe I have you in my shot from the bridge
Haha thought I saw someone up on the bridge, would have gone on the other side but it was red ant central over the other side lol
I'm bias, but there is something about a rear 3/4ish view of an A4 that just looks so right!!
I was wandering around tinternet and found this...
Yeah I stood in the ants for the Scotsman - managed to not kneel down funnily enough
She has been running great all weekend at the Mid Norfolk and I had the chance to ride behind her.
Got some nice pics. Which I would share but I cannot upload as everytime I try I get "Security error". I can't see how you fix it.
USA in action at Dereham over the weekend: http://daviddepperphotography.zenfolio.com/p596298511#h8e69b659
At Crownthorpe Bridge, Sunday 25th. June 2017
You have a PM.
60009 at Thuxton, MNR on Sunday.
Would have loved to have had a go behind my old friend No9 this weekend, although that horrible 4 letter word work got in the way. Thanks to all those for sharing their pics though, much appreciated.
