If it's true I wonder whether it will have a bell? From memory it also had the Canadian coat of arms on the cabside.

That was 4489. Neither 4464 nor 4492 - the two possibilities mooted here and elsewhere - had a bell although 4492 had a much deeper chime supplied, IIRC, by NZ railways.

isnt it going to be confusing with 2 blue A4s on the main line? i would have rather seen it outshopped as 2509 given as they are fitting the valances back etc

how about next April, sending her up to york as 4464 and doing a identity swop with another certain blue A4, or if at shilton lining them up side by side and having her run as that on the way back, how many will fall for it? imagine seing what most visitors would think is 4468 in steam on the date of the return run especially if you could throw some lighted rags into the smokebox of the real 4468

I dont suppose the realms of possibility stretch to one of the "teak" sets, NYMR or SVR, being "vinyled" in two-tone blue to run with the loco....

No of course not. Silly me......

(But what a fantastic sight it would be!)

Smooth skinned carriages - Mk1s or similar - would look better.

Nah. Need articulated carriages so it's got to be a Eurostar set. :)

I hope that this does happen although there is some confusion of the identity in Heritage Railway; the contents page says she is going to be Dominion Of Canada while the main story says New Zealand.........................................

Does this indicate there might be some Christchurch earthquake fundraising workings in the offing?

Just to clarify, 4492 didn't have a bell although 4489 did. On the other hand when 60010 (4489) received its double chimney the bell was removed.
Whatever is planned for 60019, we'll all know soon enough.

Its the same on their website. The cover says New Zealand but the section saying whats in the magazine has Canada.
