No LNER loco would ever look right in red/maroon, mind you it might suit an 8F......:behindsofa:

I remember seeing a "what might have been" painting of a King, an A4 and a Bulleid in maroon/red, stood on shed, I think it was on here some while ago. The A4 particularly looked superb!

Hardly! 60007 is in BR blue - quite a different shade. I admit to having occassional difficulty distinguishing between 4 black Black Fives and three green Halls...

Could be anything. I'd rather it was still as Bittern but if it is named Dominion of New Zealand then it does have the possibilty for some charity fundraising after the Christchurch Earthquake.

Maybe they will have multiple letters and nameplates cast of different members of the class.

That is what I've been thinking all along about the New Zealand connection.

It definitely would make a lot of sense to represent long gone class mates as well considering the expense of the transformation.

We have almost seen two of these in real life, 5972 & 34027 in Hogwart's livery.

Thanks Dan. They all look terrific like that IMHO! The A4 most of all!

Well, all that's needed is for someone to do that with their A4 and we're laughin. Maybe JK Rowling could let them get the red paint out again for the 15th / 20th anniversary and I think David Smith's loco is still operable.......

Interestingly, just stumbled across this on RMWeb, dated 18th March, 9.35pm:

Quote user Slilley: "I have seen it at Southall the last couple of days and there is now some blue paint on her. Good to see garter blue and full valences on an A4"

'Tis very clever, one side green and one side blue. Two engines for the price of one. Didcot did something smiliar a few years ago..
