In the 1990s on the N Y M R we did a T V show called Noel's Christmas presents with 3672 Vera Lynn , a helicopter was filming for the air and got a little near causing a blow back on the fire , if myself and the driver had been near the fire hole door we both would have been burnt. These helicopters are an accident waiting to happen it's time they were stopped from getting to close to the engine .

I took armchair enthusiasm to a new level today, watching the ECS run into Kings X while eating my breakfast on the Beeb, then holwing with laughter just now having come in from work to see the poor sod on ITV bowled by the class 91!.

In summary, a nice day in York waiting for FS and marvelling at the number of people waiting for her.
And she looked very nice indeed.

A friend of mine has e-mailed me some piccies of 60103 at Huntingdon with a shot of the pretend Flying Scotsman taken three minutes later. I'll ask him if he minds me putting them on the internet.

Looks like there are two programmes on the way.
Robson Green has been working on a documentary due to be shown on ITV (don't know the date yet) and I read today that Michael Portaloo was working on a special edition of his Railway Journeys today on the train.

It's great to see all the pictures and videos on here today. It was also a treat to watch the LIVE :Jawdrop: coverage of 60103 arriving and departing King Cross this morning. I couldn't believe the amount of media coverage today. Very impressive. A knock on effect from Tornado I wonder?
A shame that later in the day it was negative coverage due to the complete c$^%* trespassing on the ECML. :Banghead:

There was a lump in the throat and something in my eye when I watched her leaving Kings Cross on the BBC this morning. A beautiful sight and sound. Welcome back Old Girl!
I think I might be buying most of the Newspapers tomorrow..........

Must admit I thought it would be a challenging day, with aerial coverage and hordes of people, but there was no way I was going to miss it!

And like Scotsman, if there hadn't been 11 trespassers on the pitch LFC would've steamed freely & majestically home.... instead of a journey fraught with stops & starts - but hey both made it over the line & home! :)

Sorry for the slight thread drift.............. :p

Agreed it was about being there, and I did manage to spot myself in the shot at Doncaster from the private bridge over the station.:)
